    Once again I must apologise for the quality of some of the pictures. One day, I hope, I’ll figure out the settings on this camera.
    Every year, the Pride London Parade gets bigger and bigger. I can remember when the parade formed up in the parking lot of what was then Club London. (Image on right) But now it takes the two large parking lots on either side of Ontario Street where King Street runs into the Western Fair Grounds. (Image on left)
    The Parade was to have started sharp at noon (str8 time) but got on the road at 12:15 (which was 12 noon GST (Gay Standard Time).
    Before the parade started, I moved to a position at King & Adelaide. At one point, there was one car that pulled out from behind the church and drove towards the oncoming parade. A couple others also tried but were promptly stopped by London Police, in no uncertain terms.
    At the Festival Grounds (a parking lot at the corner of King & Clarence), Mayor Joe Fontana gave a rousing and supportive speech after being the first London mayor participated in a Pride London Parade. Deb AL-Hamza, President of Pride London Festival, also gave a powerful presentation of appreciation as she fought back tears (not helped by me who told her not to cry). I part, Deb’s speech was:
    Thank you to all our Sponsors, volunteers, vendors, entertainers and attendees! Thank you to Mayor Joe Fontana and City Councillors, Chief Brad Duncan, MPP Deb Matthews, Teresa Armstrong and Brian George of the London Fire Department!! I would also like to thank Eugene Dustin for all his years of running Pride London Festival!! Eugene has worked very hard over the years to make Pride what it is today!! This is the end of the parade and I start moving along with the parade
to the Festival grounds
As we said in Ottawa, “If we don’t have protesters, it is not a official parade.”
Well, I guess this is REALLY and official Pride Parade.



This gentleman is trying to hide his face. I attempted to photograph him three times and each time he lifted his sign.


After he lifted his sign the third time, I went up to him and said, “You can stand here with your sign spouting you beliefs but are afraid to show your face.” He said he was not afraid so I pointed the camera and took this image.
